In choosing J.D. Vance for VP, Trump has not chosen a risk-free pick, but he's made what I think is an outstanding big money bet when the odds were in his favor. That's what great entrepreneurs do.
He’s also made a pick that is much more about governing than politics. Vance is not necessarily going to add as much electorally to the ticket as some other choices Trump could have made. But he’ll add a lot in terms of working with Trump to govern the country. And Trump genuinely likes him. It’s great that Trump made a choice of someone he can actually work with rather than a mere political marriage of convenience like Biden-Harris.
